Glogster Project
In this project, I worked with a friend Ayşe. We watched the video of and read the summary and other notes about the novel 1984 by George Orwell. And we created a brochure/poster to inform people about Oceania as if we worked for the Party. For this project, we used Glogster which is an online tool used to create digital, interactive posters. I hope you'll like it ;)

Interview Project
In this project, I listened to an interview broadcasted on 5 February 2010 and I would like to write about the interview.
Just click here to listen to the interview. It is taken from BBC Radio 4 / The Film Programme.
In the interview I listened, Morgan Freeman tells Francine Stock about the research he did to play Nelson Mandela in Clint Eastwood's drama, Invictus, about the Rugby World Cup in South Africa.
Francine Stock starts the interview introducing Morgan Freeman who is nominated for Academy Award for his performances in Street Smart, Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption and Invictus and won in 2005 for Million Dollar Baby. The she talks about the film Invictus. The film tells about the events in South Africa before and during the 1995 Rugby World Cup just the year after multi-rational democratic elections and African National Congress comes to up on Nelson Mandela. In the film, Nelson Mandela is played by Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon is the supporting actor. Then Francine Stock talks about the role of Morgan Freeman in the film and a part of his speech taken from the film is given. Let me share the speech of Nelson Mandela in the film.
Francine Stock says that Morgan Freeman wanted to do a film/ a autobiography based on Nelson Mandela for a time ago but he could not achieve this. In 2009, we see him in a leading role as Nelson Mandela in the film Invictus. The screenplay of the film is based on a story of John Carlin. In that part of the interview Francine Stock starts with a sentence about John Carlin. And Morgan Freeman goes on. He talks about how he met with John Carlin and what he thought about the story at first. Then he explains how the Invictus comes out.
The interview goes on with the question " How did you know Nelson Mandela .. ? " Freeman explains how he knows about Nelson Mandela. He says that he reads African newspaper but he does not spend extra time to observe him. He says Freeman and Mandela comes together whenever possible. Then he talks about his observations about Mandela. For example, Freeman says that Nelson Mandela does nothing much with his left arm. He also thinks that talking with him is motionless. Or Mandela's family life is not so good as Freeman says. Freeman thinks that Mandela is the father of the country but he can not deal with his own family. While talking, Freeman is in a very calm mood. He talks in a serious way and never laughs during the interview.
In the middle of the interview, Francine Stock wants to learn Nelson Mandela's thoughts about the film. Freeman explains the case in a very funny way. While watching the film, Freeman sits next to Mandela. Then he notices that Nelson Mandela sleeps. Stock laughs at this but Freeman knows that this happens just because of Mandela's old age. Then they talk about playing a real/ living character in a film and personality of Mandela. Morgan Freeman thinks that Nelson Mandela has a very quiet soul.
Last of all Francine Stock asks Morgan Freeman about the happy ending of the film and the more complex reality. Freeman finishes the interview with those words " Yeah, it didn't solve South African problems but it did tell them something about themselves. It showed the possibility. And they are all aware of it. "
If I were in Francine Stock's shoes, I would ask two more questions to Morgan Freeman. I would probably ask questions like :
" How would you feel if an actor/actress played as Morgan Freeman? "
" What was the reason that you could not finalize 'Long Walk to Freedom' ? "

Web Quest Project
THE GAZELLE AND BEAUTY
There was a gazelle in a lovely forest. The gazelle had golden hair. Her body was thin and looked beautiful. Her eyes were big and attractive. The gazelle lived with her friends – the giraffe, the elephant, and the crow. The gazelle was always proud of her beauty. And, the gazelle criticized her other animal friends in the forest they lived together.
One day, the gazelle met her friends while she was walking around. Firstly, she came across with the giraffe and began to talk about her beauty and commented on the length of the giraffe’s neck: ‘Your neck is too long, you look so awful.’ The giraffe was offended by her words. And then the gazelle went on walking.
Secondly, the gazelle came across the elephant. And, the gazelle said: ‘You are so fat. How amazing you fit into this forest! ‘Hereupon, the elephant became sad and began to cry. The gazelle didn’t mind the elephant.
Lastly, while the crow was flying in the sky, the gazelle saw the crow, and began to talk with the crow. The gazelle said: ‘You are the ugliest bird I have ever seen so far. Not only your voice is bad, but also your appearance is very horrible.’ So, the gazelle broke her friend’s heart again.
While the gazelle was returning to her home, suddenly, she smashed against a tree. The gazelle was badly injured and lost her glamorous beauty which was the only thing she had.
The next day, while the gazelle was walking around in the forest, she met her friends- the giraffe, the crow, and the elephant. When they saw the face of the gazelle, they didn’t criticize her injury, and the gazelle took notice of her mistake.
Moral: Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.

MY WIKI PROJECT
This is my first experience of wikiing. Wikis are like collaborative websites started by one person, but which subsequent visitors can add to, delete or change as they wish. If you want to learn more about wiki, look here.
In that link, you will see my article about SPELLING BEE :) Spelling bees are really different and entertaining competitions where contestants, usually children, are asked to spell English words. Spelling bees are also very common in almost all countries. I really like spelling bees ;)

What is the word that describes me the best ?
When I think about myself, MODEST is the best word that describes me.
Why did I choose that word ?
Because people around me say that Emine can do many things without expecting something in return. All my actions are said to be free from showiness or ostentation.Generally, I don't have extreme or excessive behaviors. I am also not a boastful person in that I don't brag about my talents or accomplishments. I do not wish to draw too much attention to myself. I have never wanted to be the most beautiful girl or the most wealthy person in the world. All I want to have is what I need. So, that's all :)

M is made from stairs of my and my sister's bunk/berth.
O is a kind of rim.
D is made from a washbasin.
E is my comb.
S is the cable of an iron.
T is made from a kind of wooden table.

My Podcast
This is my podcast project. I and my friend ( Sümeyye ) prepared this podcast. It is Project 2 : A myth project.
Icarus and Daedalus is the name of the myth. We read the myth and turned it into a play based on the dialogues between Icarus and Daedalus. This is the podcast of the dialogues between the son and the father. I hope you'll enjoy it ;=)

MY REPURPOSING IDEA
This is the first time I've created such a thing. It is actually an ashtray but I hate smoking and all materials about it. So, I've turned it into a kind of sewing box/ workbox. :)
